APPOINTMENTS

Referrals

As Kaye is a specialist surgeon, a referral from another doctor (your GP or another specialist) is required to make an appointment.

Waiting times for an appointment

We know that waiting to see a surgeon is often an anxious time. We endeavour to ensure you do not have to wait long for an appointment and can generally make you an appointment within 1-2 weeks. For patients with a new cancer diagnosis we are usually able to see you within 3-4 business days. Consulting times will vary throughout the week, please call to find out about available appointment times.

  Book Online

Registration form

If you are a new patient to our practice, you will need to complete a registration form. To save time on the day of your appointment, you may complete this online registration form in advance if you wish. Please only complete the registration form once you have a scheduled appointment. If you are not able to do so, don’t worry, you may complete a paper form on arrival but be sure to come 10 minutes before your appointment time to do so.

What to bring to your appointment

Please bring the following to your appointment

  • Referral
  • Medicare card and health fund details
  • A supportive relative or friend if you wish

Your referring doctor will usually send through all of your relevant tests such as blood tests, Ultrasound scans, CT scans, but if you have any results with you it is a good idea to bring them in. If you are unsure what you need to bring please phone our friendly staff.

Waiting times on the day of your appointment

We understand you have a busy schedule and endeavour to see all our patients on time or as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible. Occasionally there may be a delay due to the need to spend extra time with a complex patient or the need to tend to an emergency. Please help us keep to time by arriving for your appointment on time and completing your registration form online in advance.

What if I am uninsured?

We are very happy to see uninsured patients in the rooms and believe that all patients should be treated equally. Just as for privately insured patients, you will need to pay for your appointment on the day. This is partly reimbursable through Medicare and we can process this for you at the time of payment in most cases. If you require surgery Kaye can directly place you on the waiting list at Alfred Health where she also operates.
